The Bluebonnet Knitting Guild (BBKG) is announcing a new series, Knitting Knowledge, a comprehensive course on building a foundation of basic knitting techniques. This summer we will cover the basics taught by three BBKG members who have many years of experience and include a The Knitting Guild Association Master Hand Knitter.

 

This workshop is for the beginner to intermediate knitter.

This is NOT a class to teach you to knit.

 

Prerequisites: know how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off.

 

Workshop Topics: understanding the knit and purl stitch, gauge, needles, yarns, knitted and cable cast on, increases and decreases, knit two together bind off, seams, picking up stitches, abbreviations, understanding a pattern, pattern language and other tips we have picked up over the years on topics as weaving in ends, using a lifeline and fixing simple mistakes.

 

Homework is required for this workshop and will be emailed to you.

 

Cost: $25 for BBKG members and $35 for non-members. Limit of 20 attendees and will be on a first come/first serve basis. Payment is required at the time of registration. Cash or check only please. No Paypal. A copy of Nancie Wiseman’s book The Knitter’s Book of Finishing Techniques, is included in the class fee.

 

Bring your brown bag lunch and the BBKG will provide dessert!
